The Enemy’s Attack on Ukraine’s Energy Infrastructure Caused Power Outages at DTEK Energy’s Coal Mines in Dnipro Region, Recovery Works Are Underway

Due to a large-scale hostile attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, DTEK Energy's coal mining companies in Dnipro region suffered a power outage.

At the time, 1,060 miners were underground at their workplaces. Immediately after the power outage, the companies put in place an emergency response plan, activated backup power sources and started evacuating miners to the surface. At the moment, almost all miners have been brought to the surface.

All miners are undergoing medical examination after being evacuated. No one has been injured, everyone is fine.

Work is currently underway to energise the mines using backup circuits. No coal is being produced while the mines are undergoing restoration work.

The situation is under control and coal production will resume after the mines are re-energised and the necessary preparations are completed.

The company coordinates its actions with the Ukraine's Ministry of Energy.
