Four Power Engineers from DTEK Energy’s TPPs Received State Awards for Their Extraordinary Efforts During the Harshest Winter

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, has honoured Ukrainian power engineers with state awards. Among them are four power engineers from DTEK Energy's TPPs.

For their significant contribution to the development and operation of the energy sector under martial law, their personal courage and dedication demonstrated during the clean-up of the aftermath of attacks on energy facilities, and for the diligent performance of their professional duties, the following were awarded:

The Order of Merit, 3rd Class:

  • Mykhailo Hryvnak, an electrician at Burshtynska section of ‘Halremenergo’ repair workshop (Ivano-Frankivsk region).

The Order of Princess Olha, 3rd Class:

  • Yana Martynenko, an electric welder at ‘Interenergoservice LLC’ workshop of Prydniprovska TPP (Dnipropetrovsk region).

The Order of Courage, 3rd Class:

  • Valerii Mazuryk, a repairman at Ladyzhynska TPP's workshop of ‘Interenergoservice LLC’ (Vinnytsia region);
  • Volodymyr Skalievyi, an electrician at Kryvorizka TPP's workshop of ‘Interenergoservice LLC’ (Dnipropetrovsk region).

The President of Ukraine signed the relevant decree on the 4th anniversary of the full-scale invasion – 24 February 2026.

Winter is almost over, but the heating season continues and remains the most challenging since the start of the full-scale war. The combination of cold weather and regular, massive attacks is placing an unprecedented strain on the energy system. Despite this, power engineers are working round the clock to repair damaged equipment and are doing everything possible to ensure that light and heat return to Ukrainian homes as quickly as possible.

Since the start of the full-scale invasion, DTEK Energy’s thermal power plants have been attacked more than 220 times. Since last October alone, the enemy has launched 11 large-scale strikes against the Company’s power plants. Since February 2022, power engineers have had to ‘restart’ the plants from zero generation state more than 60 times, effectively restoring the TPPs to operation following critical damage.

DTEK Energy is proud of its employees and sincerely thanks them for their professionalism, courage and dedication to their work.
